Power Test Engineer

About the Role

Responsible for power design testing. Troubleshoot, optimization, validation and automation for different product lines
Follow product power testing plan closely and provide timely, accurate, and sufficient testing report and data to cover different design aspects and operating conditions: for example, efficiency, use cases, thermal, system interaction with software, etc
Work closely with design and lead Engineers for prototyping hardware and system integration optimization, testing & validation, troubleshooting, etc.
Qualifications:
HW requirements:
BSEE minimum + 3 yr work experience or MSEE on power electronics and PhD on power related area is a plus
Strong Power design knowledge of AC-DC, DC-DC power conversion (Buck, Boost, Flyback, LLC, Switched-Cap, etc); knowledge of isolated power conversion is a plus; knowledge of wireless charging or Li-ion battery charging is a plus
Strong understanding of power design tradeoff (cost, thermal, reliability, performance, etc)
Understanding of power electronics design schematic and PCB layout. Being familiar with schematic and layout software tools (such as Cadence and Altium Designer) is a plus.
Very familiar with DMM, oscilloscope, frequency analyzer, power analyzer to perform accurate power measurements and troubleshooting
Familiar with thermal testing equipment: IR camera, thermal coupler, etc
Experience with MOSFET
SW requirements:
Familiar with simulation tools, for example, circuit simulation-SPICE, EM field simulation Ansys-Maxwell, etc
Knowledge of reading and modifying Python scripts for testing automation and data processing
Knowledge of digital controller (MCU) programming is a plus
Familiar with mechanical CAD tools: for example Solidworks for fast prototyping design is a plus
